I don’t understand why people exploded over Teen Titans Go, I’ve been watching and I’ve never laughed so much in my life. I really like the goofy side of the titans. Nice to see Raven with more personality too! Sure I was kinda ‘woah’ about her new design, but if it means more personality then I’m cool with trading design for character.

1. What is your species?
Never been 100% sure, what seems to fit me the most is wolfdog. I’ve always felt a connection to canines, but when I discovered that what I was feeling had a name I didn’t want to be a canine/wolf. Because of how many there are and people who claim to be, but I can’t deny the wolf side. But I’m not 100% wolf, I am constantly a mixture of wild and domestic. I don’t want to be exclusively either.

2. Are you out? To whom?
No one in particular. I think Cafrun knows?

3. How old were you when you realized you were not human? What made you realize it?
I always thought of myself as a canine when I was young, I pretended to be a dog when I wasn’t pretending to be a monster. So I’ve always had an idea that something was up.

4. Do you identify as a part of the “otherkin”, or, “therian” community? What communities do you identify with?

Therian. I’m a furry too, which is always fun because some furs hate therians and some therians hate furs.

5. Tell the story of the first person you came out to.

I think it was just a case of ‘I believe in spirit animals’ to Cafrun. I honestly don’t remember.

6. Have you faced any abuse because of identifying not human?
I wore dog collars a lot to high school. Big mistake. The news spread fast. Fair enough, this one was self inflicted. But I was being bullied for being gay and well all that just made issues worse.

7. Do you have a favorite non-human character?

I have a lot! But I guess I love Charlie from All Dogs go to Heaven.

8. Do you believe there should be non-human pride? What do you imagine it being like?

I don’t really think there should be, we’re human bodied in this life. Having non-human pride plastered about when you’re in a human body seems like you’re defeating the purpose?

9. What does being non-human mean to you?

I am human bodied, the term ‘non-human’ only applies to my nature. To me, it just means I’m a bit more primal than most.

10. What have other people said about your non-human nature?

Others have always noticed that I have much more canine nature. Some find it nicely quirky, which is how I like people to see it. Some seem to think that my nature means that I believe I am 100% animal and feel the need to tell me I’m not a dog, in which I reply with ‘duh…’

11. If you’re out, talk about the most accepting person you’ve come out to. If you’re not out, talk about what you would hope a coming out experience would be like.

No one really knows about it. But Cafrun is the most accepting of it, because we both know that what other people believe is their own business and don’t care as long as it’s not harming anyone.

12. Your favorite non-human Tumblr site.

I love Kinfood! Both for therians/otherkin and non therians/otherkin alike.

13. Your favorite non-human website.

I recently joined The Werelist, which I’m enjoying. I love FA, if that counts as non-human

14. Tell us about a time you met another non-human, whether in real life or online.

Never really met any, I want to meet some though. Preferably in real life, I’m rather shy online.

Sue me, I liked Warriors. Although only up to the third book. I didn’t read anything past that.

All Dogs go to Heaven 1&2, Watership Down, Bolt, TLK… the list goes on…

Mostly spiritual, it has its mental aspects though.

Wolfdog is pretty cool, although I have days were the wild part dominates the more rational ‘domestic’ part of me. Leading to frustrations. But the domestic side is nice too.

Even in the gay community, I have never understood the concept of an ally.

27. What is your favorite type of cake?

Nothing to do with therian/otherkin. Not much of a cake fan either.

29. Where did you first learn about being non-human?

I knew that I left different. But I didn’t know there was a name for it until I started using the internet, I can’t remember the site.

30. Tell us anything about being non-human that you want to end with.

Some therians are a bit batshit. I know that I have a human body and the human life has its perks such as junk food, internet, thumbs. But I wouldn’t change my mentality/spirituality/whatever for the world.

So let me tell you about the shittiest parent on the motherfucking planet.

I work at a grocery store and this man comes in with his 11 year old son. He buys a pack a cigarettes and a two cases of beer. The son was holding a two dollar drawing pad and placed it on the belt and I guess the dad didn’t notice it at first but when I was about to scan the pad he asked where’d it have come from and turned towards the kid and asked “Did you put that shit up there?”. He told me to put it back and then told his 11 year old child that he “ain’t paying for that gay ass notebook.”. So I looked at the kid, who was close to tears and saying how he ran out of paper at home and my heart broke. So I gave the pad to him, for free, and told the dad I would take care of it. I gave the kid some tokens for a game outside and said I would look forward to buying some of his drawings and paintings when he’s all famous. He kids face was so priceless and I thought everything was good. But then, about 10 ten minutes after giving the kid his notebook, I walked outside and saw this. The drawing pad all ripped up and tossed on the pavement. I could only imagine what happened in the parking lot, but I know that that poor kid heart is fucking ripped apart, just like this pad.

I’m fucking horrified that there are parents like this, who, just because it’s not masculine or gender specificthey won’t let their children follow their true passions or explore interests that lead to their happiness. Even more so, I’m horrified that parents don’t care about the fine arts anymore because it doesn’t have job security. Since when did it ever matter to a child if their passion makes them money or not? Parenting is about supporting whatever makes your child happy. Have some fucking consideration for your child’s wants not your homophobic and anti-art ideals.
